Overdag geniet je gratis van inspirerende storytelling, een kinderworkshop, een levendige markt, een expo en heerlijk Ivoriaans eten, terwijl je in een warme sfeer verbinding maakt met het Afrikaanse continent en de diaspora, of laat je inspireren tijdens de table talks (met ticket).

’s Avonds schakelen we over naar het betalende programma met liveoptredens van OHNA en de iconische Meiway, gevolgd door een afterparty met DJ JLM om samen feestelijk af te sluiten.

WAT IS AFRICA DAY?

Africa Day wordt jaarlijks gevierd op 25 mei en herdenkt de oprichting van de Afrikaanse Unie in 1963. Het is een dag die in het teken staat van het vieren van de diversiteit, kracht en verwezenlijkingen van het Afrikaanse continent, terwijl er ook ruimte is om stil te staan bij het culturele en economische potentieel, panafrikaanse idealen en de rol van de diaspora. Tegelijk nodigt Africa Day uit tot reflectie, dialoog en inspiratie over de toekomst van het continent en de verbondenheid tussen Afrikanen wereldwijd.

Nana Benz invites you to Africa Day, a vibrant festival where, with Côte d’Ivoire as our guest country, we celebrate the richness of West African culture.

During the day, enjoy free activities including inspiring storytelling, a kids’ workshop, a lively market, an exhibition, and delicious Ivorian food, all in a warm atmosphere where you can connect with the African continent and its diaspora—or join the table talks (ticketed) for deeper conversations.

In the evening, we move into the ticketed program with live performances by OHNA and the iconic Meiway, followed by an afterparty with DJ JLM to close the night in style.

WHAT IS AFRICA DAY?

Africa Day is celebrated annually on May 25 and commemorates the founding of the African Union in 1963. It is a day dedicated to celebrating the diversity, strength, and achievements of the African continent, while also highlighting its cultural and economic potential, Pan-African ideals, and the role of the diaspora. At the same time, Africa Day invites reflection, dialogue, and inspiration about the future of the continent and the connection between Africans worldwide.
